Installing replacement windows is a challenge in itself, but certain window styles, like picture windows, require even more care and skill to install properly. In the following video, we discuss our installation process and how we make even the most challenging window installations hassle-free.
Preparations
Our replacement windows are built by our expert craftsmen at our facilities in Minnesota. Styles like picture windows are mostly made of glass, so they require a combination of precise measurements and equally precise craftsmanship—the bigger they are, the more challenging they get. Plus, our replacement windows are built to size, so there’s little room for error. Each delivered replacement window unit is inspected before loaded onto our trucks on installation day.
Installation Day
Our installers will arrive bright and early on installation day and will carefully unload your new windows. As our team leader discusses the installation details with you, the rest of the installers prepare your home—they move your furniture and appliances out of the way, cover them with dust covers, arrange drop cloths around the work areas and wear shoe covers to avoid tracking dirt indoors.
From the simplest double hung window to the most elaborate specialty window, our team exercises great care when installing new windows. To ensure fast installation with minimal exposure to outside conditions, our installers work in pairs, one installer inside and another outside. This method is so efficient that we can install windows even in the middle of winter. The new windows are carefully positioned, shimmed and leveled before being screwed into place. The gaps between the frame and wall will be filled with foam insulation before the trim is installed.
After-Installation Cleanup
All installed windows undergo one further quality check, then our installers will thoroughly clean everything up—the protective film will be removed, the glass will be polished and every speck of dust will be vacuumed. Then everything will be back just the way it was, in some cases even cleaner than when we first arrived.
