4 Factors that Affect Window Condition and Performance

4 Factors that Affect Window Condition and Performance

November 10, 2016

Parts of your home perform different functions to provide protection, enhance aesthetic design, and improve comfort levels. Among these important structures are your windows, which allow natural light into your home. They also serve as a barrier from the elements and help maintain an ideal indoor temperature. That’s why you should understand the factors that affect their performance in order for you to find the best replacement windows in Waukesha. Renewal by Andersen® of Milwaukee talks about five of them:

Windows Performance

1. Number of Panes

Single, double, or triple-pane windows offer various levels of energy efficiency. Make sure to look for windows that have two or more glass panes, as they are usually filled with low conductive gas. This feature helps reduce heat transfer and lowers your energy costs.

2. Design

From allowing maximum energy efficiency to capturing panoramic views, you can choose a window style that will suit your needs. A double hung window in Waukesha is ideal if you want to implement a proper daylighting scheme while improving air circulation. Bay windows, on the other hand, can add extra square footage to your space.

3. Frame Material

This factor can greatly affect your windows’ energy performance and weather resistance. We only use Fibrex® frames in all our windows, as this material provides great insulation and protection from harsh weather. It can remain sturdy and beautiful for years.

4. Glass

When it comes to glass options, make sure to go for one that has a low emissivity coating to minimize heat transfer and protect your home from the sun’s damaging rays. We use our exclusive High-Performance™ Low-E4® glass that has excellent energy-saving properties to help maintain your home’s ideal temperature and comfort levels regardless of the season.

Whether you go for picture windows in Waukesha or any other style, make sure that you’re choosing high-quality components. This will ensure that your windows will perform optimally throughout the years. Hear From Our Customers

This was a great crew to work with. Both the original install manager we worked with (Jay) and the install team (Daniel, Mason, Tony, Ethan, and Jose). Everyone was very professional and knowledgable. They answered all my questions and the end result on the house is great. In 3 days they replaced an old bay window with a new bay window, a set of french doors on the patio with a sliding patio door, and our old front door with a new front door and storm door.

Jason and Brett did an awesome job installing our doors. We had separate installers a month earlier for our windows who also did a fantastic job. They were all very professional and cleaned up almost better than the area looked before the installation! Since these were both jobs that took more than one day the installers were great at keeping us informed on the status of where the project was at along the way.

I cant express how happy we are with choosing Andersen for our window installation. Our sales representative was knowledgeable with product and answered any questions we had without hesitation. I did also fill out a survey that was sent in an email, but sadly I failed to personally name the two gentlemen that performed the actual installation. Barrett and Francisco were our guys, and let me tell you, they were outstanding!!! They did Excellent work and were professional as well as efficient and made this a smooth, none evasive process for us. I strongly recommend this company and these installers to anyone in need of windows!!! My husband and I could not be more pleased we chose Andersen for replacing our windows!!!
